Overflowing!

We have had so much rain lately that the garden boxes are literally overflowing!

I am in love with these boxes and have hopes to get a few more next year.  I can see that we need one just for tomatoes, one for herbs, and another for vegetables. The box dedicated to flowers was well worth it.  I adore Zinnias.

Dreamy

On my list of wants is an iron bed.  I think they are stunning. I can remember wanting one as a girl even.  I had a beautiful brass bed,as a young child, but it was impossible to keep shiny.I think that I should like one that is painted white.  I think they look best with a quilt, too, and lace curtains.  Perhaps one day, I will find my white iron bed.  Perhaps I will not.

Presenting The Deck

Before

After

It all started with a dream, a thrifted table, and a can of spray paint.  Oh, and a very kind husband, who did the painting! We added a few finishing touches, like a discounted umbrella and stand, retail chairs and pillows for a touch of whimsey.  Actually, the pillows were needed to tie together my theme when I could not find an umbrella that would!  Who knew that umbrellas sell out quickly? I am so pleased with our "new' deck.  Time to go enjoy our lunch outside.

Box Gardens Finished

Box number one.

Box number two.

Box one with marigold plants, sun flower, and zennia seeds.

Box two with sun flower seeds, tomatoes, cucumbers, basil, parsley, and catnip.

Box two with tomato cages added, and after bunny damage.
I love, love, love raised garden boxes!  It brings me great joy to watch things grow.  I cannot wait to use the fresh herbs, and spoil my cats with fresh catnip.  I am hoping the bunnies will leave the garden alone, after finding 2 tomatoes damaged, and 2 cucumbers nibbled on.  We have already started to see seeds sprouting. These boxes are going to be awesome!
