We finally got a short break from the oppressive heat and humidity, but it is on the way back. That is the nature of late summer. School is back in full swing, so it seems as if the weather should turn to more mild temperatures. Fall is still a while away.
Our herbs are doing rather well at the moment. We are enjoying fresh herbs in bread and sauces. I am thinking of how I want to dry and store some for the winter. These herbs are the only plants the bunnies did not destroy. It also helps that we have had some wonderful rain recently.
This week is our first home football game for our local high school student. I go to hear him in the band, of course. It is a quite festive event. This week they play the nearby rivals. It is sure to be a crazy time.
We are still praying for rain. The bunnies got much of my garden this year, too.
ReplyDeleteMay you have a great school year!
I know wasnt that rain dance we did worth it... It made the grass all green again and my flowers come alive, even though I had been doing a good soaking once a week during the drought weather.. I had fear of some person flicking a cig out their car windows and whoopa I end up with a field fire...
ReplyDeleteYou sunflowers are beautiful! Very nice. Jenn, I think we have the same weather. We had rain in the weekend. Now very hot weather. Just after the holidays ;-( In connection with the heat the class/school schedule of Moniek (16) is adjusted. They now have shorter lessons (35 minutes). How about your girl?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, lessons are not shortened here, but thankfully we have air conditioning so that helps us get our work done. I am not going to spend a lot of time out of doors until the humidity changes. I exercise indoors!
DeleteSome of my fondest memories are band trips to football games.
